The Costa Rica team is once again preparing for Legacy’s annual mission trip. The team is excited to return to the country and minister to the local people. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the trip has been delayed until June rather than the typical March time frame.
During ESM week, the team began the process of preparing for the trip by learning songs, doing devotions, and growing closer to each other and to God. The team decided on Acts 20:24 as the team verse, which says, “But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.” The team went through a book study of Foreign to Familiar, a book that will help the team better understand cultural differences.
On the last day of ESM week, the team wrapped up their week of preparation with food, including authentic Taco Bell tacos and a common Costa Rican staple, gallo pinto, a beans and rice dish. The team asks that they continue to be lifted in prayer as they inch closer to their departure.
